Variability of the Ventricular Depolarization Using Autocorrelation Maps of Different Beats in Normal Adults
Potential distributions over the whole chest surface can be displayed in the form of a set of isopotential maps (IPMs) that can be analyzed quantitatively using Pearson's correlation coefficient allowing the construction of autocorrelation maps (ACMs). Variability of ACMs of ventricular depolarization between different beats was evaluated in 20 adult men without documented cardiovascular diseases. Comparison of maps using the correlation coefficient showed, that in principle, almost all correlation coefficients were higher than 0.900, that means a high degree of similarity between maps. From our results follows that we can select an ACM from any arbitrary beat for the next evaluation, for example, construction of etalons or comparison with maps of patients with cardiovascular diseases.
