The research in progress explores and describes the effects of the German dual training model on creating shared value between companies, higher education institutions, and students. Through a qualitative methodology of a phenomenological type, supported by semi-structured interviews, evidence is collected on the model’s impact on producing shared value for these actors. This study will provide the first theoretical scope in the area of research on dual training as a mechanism for the creation of share value by closing the gaps between what companies require as suitable job profiles for their vacancies, what type of graduates higher education institutions provide, and their employability in the youth labor market. Ecuador, El Salvador, Colombia and Peru participate in this study, which are members of the German dual training transfer program sponsored by a German cooperation agency.
