For controlling AC servo motor most of the drive is equipped with traditional controller which may be of PI or PID type. Therefore the tuning of PI parameter used in this drive is very necessary. However, during some operating conditions, this controller may not givesatisfied perforcemance and precision. This paper presents study for closed loop control of AC servo motor using Fuzzy Logic Controller when motor operating in field oriented control. Motor used in servo motor here is Synchronous Motor with permanent magnet. In FOC d-axis reference current is taken as zero. The main focus is on controlling position & speed of synchronous motor with permanent magnet.
