It is necessary to model the channel with probability distribution and analyze its performance for various atmospheric turbulence condition. In this paper, we use α-µ distribution for modeling the channel in FSO communication system. Further, we analyze the performance in terms of outage probability and average capacity and compare with other distributions such as Negative Exponential, Gamma-Gamma and Exponentiated Weibull distribution for weak, moderate and strong atmospheric turbulence condition. Outage Probability and Average Capacity Analysis over α-µ Distribution in Free Space Optical Communication System
