Even though the amateur service represents a small fraction of the total number of transmitting installations spread throughout the nation, the increasing frequency of EMI complaints is posing a threat to its continued growth and existence. Be cause of the seriousness of the problem, the American Radio Relay League has accentuated its efforts to find a solution. A general survey of the EMI situation has been under taken and susceptibility tests performed where applicable.
