PD detection and localization are of great significance to evaluate the insulation status and service life of electrical equipment in substations. First, this paper reviews the detection technologies and localization methods of PD, and summarizes the important research achievements in recent years. Then, the advantages and limitations of different detection technology and localization methods are discussed.
