Call for Green Vocabulary in IT: Need for more robust development of green vocabulary for ecological responsibility midst the changing landscape of green IT

Information technology has become an integral part of daily life and plays a quintessential part in the workings of society, yet problems arise when dealing with the issue of ecological responsibility and sustainability in the consumption of energy and the disposal of electronics. Unclear regulations and standards do nothing to solve this problem as industries and consumers habitually make ecologically harmful choices due to certain circumstances. In order to ensure an ecologically sound cycle of green IT in manufacturing, business, marketing, retail, consumer, and e-waste management, a robust green vocabulary in IT needs to be developed. New green vocabulary will give voice to all segments of the society to vitalize the ecologically sound practices.
