Kegiatan budidaya G. verrucosa secara horizontal dibatasi oleh ketersedian lahan, oleh sebab itu diperlukan alternatif budidaya dengan teknologi budidaya vertikal. Penelitian ini bertujuan memanfaatkan teknologi kantong jaring bersusun sebagai alternatif budidaya secara vertikal yang berdampak pada peningkatan produksi dengan memanfaatkan lahan yang terbatas. Penelitian dilaksanakan secara eksperimen selama 45 hari yang terdiri dari 4 perlakukan, yakni: perlakuan A (kontrol/metode sebar), Perlakuan B (kantong jaring bersusun dengan bobot awal 100 gram), Perlakukan C (kantong jaring bersusun dengan bobot awal 200 gram) dan Perlakuan D (Kantong jaring bersusun dengan bobot awal 300 gram).. Hasil penelitian menunjukan ABSTRACT Gracilaria verrucosa is a species of seaweed that cultivated in horizontal ponds way. The cultivation of G. verrucosa is horizontally limited by the availability of land, therefore an alternative cultivation with vertical cultivation technology is needed. This research aims to utilize multilevel net bags technology as an alternative to vertical cultivation which has an impact on increasing production by utilizing limited land. The research was carried out experimentally for 45 days consisting of 4 treatments, namely: treatment A (control / spread method), treatment B (multilevel net bags with initial weight of 100 grams), Treat C (multilevel net bags with initial weight of 200 grams) and Treatment D (multilevel net bags with initial weight of 300 grams). The results showed the growth of G. verrucosa ranged from 106 to 119.44 grams for the initial weight of 100 grams, 220-230.66 grams for the initial weight of 200 grams and 308.44-317.11 for the initial weight of 300 grams. The growth rates of absolute weight using the stacked net bag method ranged from 17.11 to 30.66 grams. The specific growth rates using the multilevel net bag method ranged from 5.70 to 19.44%. Absolute and specific weight growth was still in the optimum category. The quality of G. verrucosai cultivation water, namely: temperature (31 -32.2 ° C), pH (7 - 9.22), Salinity (15-20 ppt), dissolved oxygen (6.2 - 11.12 ppm), brightness (40 - 60 cm), depth (60 - 90 cm), nitrite (0.003 - 0.690 mg / L), phosphate (0.003 - 0.690 mg / L) and ammonia (0.032 - 0.428 mg / L).
