Several discovery methods have been explored in the framework of a project aimed at approaching different aspects of porting in grid astrophysical applications. Grid and e-business methodologies have been tested. The paper explores different mechanisms used to provide a solution by dealing with the use cases of resources made up of Web service applications. It outlines the difficulties encountered in finding such resources through the current information system.
