Although several attempts have been made in applying Game-based Learning (GBL) in the classroom context to keep students motivated, there are some essential advantages that can be obtained from AR and a location-based component, such as social relationships, cooperation, and physical activity. This paper proposes a system composed of a location-based AR game for mobile devices named “QuizHuntAR”, heavily inspired by the game Pokémon GO, with education as its theme.
