Regulation process of the two-position controller is defined by dynamic properties of the controlled system and by the control algorithm. This paper is focused on control of stable, 2ndorder, continuous systems with overdamped step response. There are 2 main types of control algorithms of the on-off controller: comparative mode and fixed frequency mode. Both algorithms share a few differences, such as regulation time, precision and quality of control process. But the main difference is control logic. In the comparative mode, the controller output is switched based on the comparison of desired state and the actual state of a system. On the other hand, the control algorithm of fixed frequency mode is given by functionality between the input signal and the controlled variable. In addition to basic control algorithms, a new type of control was tested: hybrid mode. This mode combines advantages of comparative mode and fixed frequency mode, to improve dynamics of the regulation process of the two-position controller.
