In this context, the role of the teacher changes to that of a ‘facilitator’, wherein he/she facilitates the process by which the learner acquires knowledge. Facilitation skills hence become the crucial aspect in the active learning paradigm. This paper brings out the key elements of such a facilitation process, specifically in the context of engineering education.
