It consists of a circular patch with an arc slot notched, which intends to obtain frequency notched for WLAN. To broaden the bandwidth and shorten the width of the substrate, a truncated ground plane is introduced. Thus, the width of the substrate is sharply shortened than previous studies. And also a simple formula modified to predict the lower edge of the bandwidth more accurately for the proposed configuration is presented. The proposed antenna operates from 2.65GHz to 13GHz for return loss of less than -10dB with 4.95-5.95GHz notched. Other performance of the antenna is also presented. The simulated results which are validated by Ansoft HFSS and CST Microwave Studio coincide with each other well.
