This is due to WSNs characteristics, such as the random deployment of sensors, limited sensing range, and few number of sensors deployed in the area of interest. In the present paper, an attempt has been made to address the network coverage problem during the deployment phase. Here, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Voronoi diagram technique have been used to optimize the network coverage. The performance of the implemented algorithm has been evaluated through extensive simulations.
