A Broadband Phase Shift Power Divider Based on Composite Right/Left Handed Transmission Line
A compact 1:4 parallel phase shift power divider that provides equal power split to all four output ports and 900 phase difference from port 3/4 to port 2/5 over a large bandwidth is presented, which comprises two composite right/left handed(CRLH) transmission lines(TLs) in transformer, two CRLH TLs in output port 3 and port 4. The proposed CRLH power divider provides wide impedance bandwidth of 76% and phase difference bandwidth of 80%, which compared to the 51.5% and 12% for the conventional power divider with 900 phase difference using delay TLs. Moreover, the divider is significantly more compact, occupying only 20.6% of the conventional power divider occupies. The circuit has been successfully applied in the phased-array antenna.
