Hence, the ability and individual characteristics of lecturers will be of great importance in determining how to manage and achieve set goals. Goal management is an integral consideration in career growth but yet to attract much research attention in Nigeria. The study investigated the influence of personality factors (extraversion and conscientiousness) on goal management of university lecturers in south-western Nigeria. The survey method was adopted in this study, using purposive sampling technique to select four universities in the south western part of Nigeria. A total of 600 respondents comprising of 423 males and 177 females selected from university academic staff were used for this study, using the random sampling technique. Data were collected on extraversion, conscientiousness and goal management. The data were analyzed using multiple regression and Pearson Product Moment Correlation. 教学职业是一种必须同时进行教学、科研、管理和社区服务等多项任务的职业。因此,讲师的能力和个人特点将在决定如何管理和实现既定目标方面发挥重要作用。目标管理是职业发展中不可或缺的考虑因素,但在尼日利亚尚未引起很多研究关注。本研究调查了性格因素(外向性和责任心)对尼日利亚西南部大学讲师目标管理的影响。本研究采用调查方法,采用有目的抽样技术,选择尼日利亚西南部的四所大学。本研究采用随机抽样方法,从高校教职员中抽取了423名男性和177名女性,共600名受访者。收集了外向性、责任心和目标管理方面的数据。数据分析采用多元回归和Pearson积差相关。多元回归结果显示,外向性、责任心对目标管理有共同影响(R2 = .24;F (12,407) = 15.36, p = 3.34
