New Structural Biocomposite of Flax Laminate Materials for Antennas Applications
Natural fiber matrix composite materials exhibiting a promising dielectric properties with lightweight are developed. The bio-based composites provide the ability to embed radiofrequency features, such as microwave antennas, for smart load-bearing structures. The dielectric characteristics of biocomposites at microwave range are fundamental parameters in many applications, and needs to be investigated systematically. The measurement is conducted in the frequency range of (2GHz-16GHz) using a free-space method, which is more suitable and convenient for the developed materials. This work will present also a proof of concept to develop a new generation of biosourced antenna based on the sustainable natural fiber of flax with compatible thermosetting resins.
