Language Character Value of Wasis Joyokusumo Folklore as Learning Media at Elementary School

The research has objective of (1) knowing the condition of learning media for teaching folklore at Elementary School (2) knowing the needs analysis of learning media on folklore for learner and teacher (3) knowing of forming character building value toward Wasis Joyokusumo folklore at Elementary School. This research is a descriptive qualitative research using study case method. Strategy used in this research focused on case study multiple case design embedded research in six different schools. Technique used to collect the data cover observation to six different schools in Pati, interview to learners, and documentation in the form of research photograph and Lesson Plan. Data analysis techniques used in this research are data collection, data reduction, data display and data verification. The finding of the research show that (1) from six schools in Pati, there are only two schools that use learning media in learning process (2) learning media which is needed by learners is pictures series so the plot of the folklore will be understood by them easier. (3) Language character forming toward Wasis Joyokusumo folklore can run well because it contains six maxim of language politeness is tact maxim, generosity maxim, approbation maxim, modesty maxim, agreement maxim, sympathy maxim.
