However, network congestion and wireless channel error yields tremendous packet loss and degraded video quality. We propose a new protocol stack design, which utilizes channel error information obtained from the physical and link layer to assist the packet level error recovery. The proposed scheme is applied to MPEG coded video and tested using various packet loss and wireless channel profiles.
