Avaliaçao dos cenários costeiros em Governador Celso Ramos / SC- Brasil
The Brazilian coastal zone is recognized as a national heritage, due to the presence of important ecosystems, natural and economic resources, as well as its unique beauty. Rec-ognition of coastal characteristics is essential to preserve the quality of these scenarios and to assist in a more as-sertive allocation of coastal management efforts. This research aimed to characterize ten sandy beaches located on the municipality of Governador Celso Ramos , in the central coast of Santa Catarina state in south Brazil, evaluating their seasonal variation between winter and summer. An aesthetic classification method was used, consisting in the evaluation of 26 parameters, both natural and anthropic. This method can be applied to any beach in the world. The best coastal scenarios (Class I) were found on sparsely frequented and less urbanized beaches, while more pop-ulated areas scored mainly as Class III or IV. No studied
