Not only are the terrain profile and the radio link range included into consideration, but also the power source availability. The algorithm can be used to design a radio-communication access network of a UMTS/GSM mobile provider or any network using radio links. The basic optimization criterion is the network cost. Secondary also network reliability is taken into account.
