The antenna is consisting of a simple circular patch with truncated square loaded in the circular patch for circular polarization (CP). The ground surface of the antenna is elliptical in shape with an embedded rectangular notch under the tapered feed line for the excitation of higher modes, consequently, obtaining a wide return loss bandwidth. The designed antenna has the advantage of compact size and dual polarization as CP is realized at 5.5 GHz.
