Europe to North America Super-Grid Utilizing Iceland and Greenland Renewable Energy Potential Part II: Power Management Scenarios
The goal of this paper is to estimate the amount of energy produced in North America and Europa from conventional power sources that can be substituted with energy produced by renewable sources if both Iceland and Greenland were able to utilize their potentials in renewable energy sources. In order to estimate the impact of this work, some assumptions have been made. Furthermore, the current state-of-the-art technologies regarding voltage levels and connection possibilities have been investigated, with the purpose that the most efficient interconnection with the least losses. Then different scenarios for the simulations are assumed for different cases are presented. For the integration of the generated renewable energy from Iceland and Greenland, several different scenarios are presented for investigation.
