However, no clear solution for monitoring the one-way delay performance of packet switching network is available. In Korea, broadband convergence network (BcN) architecture has been developed to provide the foundation of converging IT technologies. The reliability and performance of the premium services of BcN is maintained by OAM over virtual switched path (VSP). This paper presents an efficient the performance monitoring and control algorithm for packet switching network. In this paper, we will introduce an efficient delay measurement algorithm for BcN called Diffprobe (differentiated probe). DiffProbe is used for one way delay measurement in asynchronous packet switching network where the clock synchronization is not available. Network control strategy using DiffProbe is also presented.
