NetCentric geospatial SmartCache - Caching geospatial information, infrastructure and services
As Defence systems and capabilities become more reliant on computer network infrastructure to supply data, information and services to all elements of the Australian Defence Organisation, disconnection or degradation of the network poses a very real risk to continuity of service. The SMS SmartCache provides a distributed caching solution and operates transparently to the user with no changes required to the services or client applications. Caching can be performed at multiple levels ensuring that a failure at one point of the network does not affect the rest of the network. Whilst SmartCache has been demonstrated to work with geospatial data and services, the underlying technology is readily adaptable to other domains.
