Despite a large number of approaches to the classification of personnel risk, the economic literature lacks a generally accepted classification, it uses a variety of concepts: «hu-man resources risks», «personnel risks», «personnel competence risks», «personnel management risks». The authors consider various types of risks from different positions, which complicates the process of identifying personnel risks, assessing them, and choosing the most effective methods of managing them. The article states that the concept of staff risks and personnel risks is synonymous, and the risks of personnel competencies and personnel management risks are varieties of personnel risks according to the classification features. On the basis of a systematic approach, the classification of personnel risks has been im-proved by identifying general and specific features. The general features of personnel risks in-clude: the possibility of prediction and accuracy of estimation, cost estimation, degree of control-lability, the nature of possible losses, the type of loss from the risk, the nature of the costs of risks, the nature of the origin, the source of the risk (danger), the place of the risk, the degree of validi-ty of the risk, the degree of admissibility (level of losses) and the possibility of insurance, potential carriers of risks, expiration and possibility of further classification. The specific features of the classification of personnel risks are proposed to divide into the risks of the personnel themselves, which can be differentiated according to individual characteristics, and the risks of personnel management of the enterprise. Individual personnel risks are grouped by such features as: biological, social-psychological, spiritual, intellectual and economic. The risks of personnel management are grouped according to the components of the management process, the stages of work with the staff and the degree of coverage of personnel work in the enterprise, which in turn consist of various subspecies of personnel risks. The characteristics of each type of personnel risks are presented. At the same time, the emphasis is on the possible negative consequences of the risk factors. Such an approach allows to direct the efforts of risk managers first of all to prevent and reduce potential losses, which is especially relevant for the development of enterprises in the conditions of resource constraints. The proposed classification of personnel risks contributes to the diagnosis of enterprise risk situations.
