Numerical simulations of radar wave propagation in different models have been conducted, using the finite difference time domain (FDTD) simulation method with the perfectly matched layer (PML) absorbing boundary conditions for these attenuation models. The characteristics on simulated GPR profile of different models have been summarized. The numerical simulation results will be a good guide to GPR data processing and interpretation.
