Field trials of the Rope and Riser Crawling Vehicle
In May 2010, Chevron Energy Technology Company sponsored offshore field trials of the Rope and Riser Crawling vehicle. The vehicle had integrated optical and laser sensors in order to image a mooring rope in actual offshore conditions. This paper details the results of that trial and the lessons learned from infield operations under live conditions.
