Electronic sensor system for registering ECG and PPG signals
The creation of portable devices for preventive, non-invasive control of the cardiac indicators of the individual is one of the main tasks of medical electronics. The integration of sensors, microcontrollers and interfaces in a compact portable form allows for continuous monitoring of patients with cardiac diseases in order to respond quickly and adequately in critical situations. The article presents an electronic sensor system for synchronous registration of electrocardiography (ECG) and photoplethysmography (PPG) signals, which are subsequently analyzed through developed authoring software. Based on the comparative analysis of the determined heart rate intervals (RR / PP intervals) in terms of the accuracy parameter, it follows that both types of signals: ECG and PPG are suitable for examining the cardiac status of patients, with a relative error being smaller than 3%.
