Current situation of Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia and related factors
Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP) is a common infectionrelated-healthcare in hospital that has affected to treatment effectiveness. Research objectives: Describe the current situation of VAP and identify related factors to the VAP at Saint Pault Hospital. Method: cross-sectional study, performed on 711 patients at the Department of Intensive Care, Anti-Poisoning and Emergency Resuscitation at Saint Pault Hospital, from April 2018 to April 2020. Results: Incidence rate of VAP was counted at 9.28% that the male patients was counted 75.8%; the rate of new incidence was 7.61/1000 person-day Ventilator-associated; Mortality rate of VAP patients was 33.33%. Average time to appear VAP was 12.06 7.83 days. The VAP were caused by A. baumannii (44.59%), K. pneumoniae (27.03%), Escherichia coli (12.16%). Conclusion: VAP is more common in male, usually appears in the second week after the Ventilator-associated. The incidence rates, incidence rates and mortality rates were high. The microbiological pathogen were isolated that suggest to continuesanitation control in health-care practice for ventilatory-associated patients.
