The studied turbine generator set is with the rating of 951 MW, four poles, and operates at 1800 rpm. From the simulation results, it is found the subsynchronous frequency component of the electromagnetic torque (E/M torque) is induced from the dramatic real power fluctuation of an EAF load, which imposes considerable resonant torque on turbine shafts and blades.
