Stable Soliton Transmission with Increased Energy using Dispersion Management and Periodic Saturable Absorption
We present results of numerical simulations which show that, by using a combination of dispersion management and a weak saturable absorber, it is possible to transmit a pulse with energy substantially greater than that possible in a system that does not use these techniques. Using input pulses of 6.0ps we have found that stable pulses for this system exist for a wide range of input powers.
