Physical and Biological Properties of TiNbTa Alloy
This work is devoted to obtaining a superelastic alloy with acceptable biomechanical parameters, investigation of mechanical properties and cytotoxicity. An ingot of TiNbTa alloy (titanium-niobium-tantalum) was smelted by two remelting in an arc furnace vacuum furnace. The alloy samples were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) using the JSM-6390LV microscope with the energy dispersive microanalysis system INCA Energy Penta FET X3. The biocompatibility of composite materials under in vitro conditions was assessed by the following indices: viability level, adhesive properties, morphology, cell proliferation and differentiation. Cell viability was determined after 72 and 120 hours using the trypan blue dye exclusion test to selectively stain dead cells. The number of non-staining cells was counted using an electronic BID-RAD TC20 cell counter. Biological certification in vitro has shown that Ti-Nb-Ta alloys have no cytotoxic effect, have high biological activity and exhibit antibacterial effect, which allows them to be recommended for use in medicine.
