Based on the test results which were obtained from the students at one of the teachers’ education programs in West Sumatra province, Indonesia, there were still many students who had misconceptions in answering the given mathematical problems. The purpose of this study was to reveal the types and causes of the student misconceptions in solving the mathematical problems. This research is a descriptive study using quantitative data. The subject of this study was a small cohort of students majoring in Biology education department with 30 participants. The instruments were a test consisting of 9 description questions. The data were analyzed quantitatively and the types of their errors were classified. 摘要

基础数学是职前见习教师特别是初高中理科教师的必修课程之一。根据对印度尼西亚西苏门答腊省一个教师教育项目的学生进行的测试结果,仍然有许多学生在回答给定的数学问题时存在误解。本研究的目的是揭示学生在解题时误解的类型和原因。本研究采用定量数据进行描述性研究。本研究以生物教育系学生为研究对象,共30人。这些工具是一个由9个描述题组成的测试。对数据进行了定量分析,并对其误差类型进行了分类。研究结果表明,学生在实数系问题、不等式与绝对值、函数与函数图、线性方程组与非线性方程组、序列与级数(分为三类)方面存在概念错误、原理错误和操作错误。
