Given this background, a model for simulating the charging load of electric taxis under fast charging mode and battery swapping mode considering the passenger trip characteristics, stochastic driving patterns and charging behaviors is developed in this paper. First, the concept of traffic zone of the gridded road map as well as seeking, traveling and charging route of EVs is introduced. Then, Monte Carlo simulations of EV driving patterns and charging behaviors are carried out considering typical passenger trip characteristics and the impacts of different charging operation modes. Finally, a comparative case study of the EV charging load in Hangzhou City of China is carried out to illustrate the essential features of the proposed model.
