Operation modes scheduling: a formal framework for identification of the compatible state
The main idea of this work is to use the multi-model approach to deal with the complexity of industrial systems. This paper deals with multimode systems by managing the switching between different modes. Modeling the nominal mode is not a problem since the system is in its normal state. The appearance of a failure involves the transition of the system from a nominal mode to a degraded mode. The modeling of this degraded mode is a problem to be dealt with. However, we cannot deal with this problem without knowing the compatible state. We will start in this paper by modeling the switching between the two modes which will lead to the search for compatible states. We put as a perspective, a logical continuation of this paper that will allow to find a way to switch from the nominal mode scheduling to the degraded mode scheduling while linking the reachable state in the degraded mode with the scheduling of the new mode. The combination of the multi-model approach and scheduling modeling calls for a new scheduling approach called multi-model scheduling.
