Back step flow measurements using triple split film probe
This paper presents the results of experimental investigations performed for flow over a backward facing step using a triple split film probe. The method of using the triple split film probe to measure the velocity in the recirculation region of a backward facing step has shown to be accurate, reliable, repetitive and fast. Besides measurements of mean velocity vectors without the directional ambiguity, the method has also proven to be accurate to measure the normal and shear stresses in the recirculating flow.
