On heating induction motor rotor at start-up of high-inertia mechanisms
Paper is devoted to epy research of start-up modes of high-inertial asynchronous electric drives. Here we consider the case of a start with a constant rotational speed of the stator magnetic field. For high-inertia drives, the starting process is very long and can be accompanied by a significant motor overheating. Analytically, as well as using computer simulation, the following is shown: — The larger is the motor size (with other things being equal) — the stronger is the problem of heating the rotor winding in the starting modes; — The lower is the rated motor speed with the same power and the same mechanism, the less is the heating of the rotor winding in the starting modes (at gear ratio of the gearbox corresponding to the rated motor speed and the required speed of the mechanism); — By adjusting the acceleration time when starting an induction motor with thyristor voltage converter it is impossible to solve the problem of the rotor winding overheating.
