The Battery Operated Electric Vehicles, solar powered Electric vehicles, hybrid Electric Vehicles and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles are the best alternatives for the conventional vehicles. The performance of the Electric Vehicle is determined by the traction motor which drives the wheels of the Vehicle. Here an Axial Flux Permanent Magnet motor with Zeta Converter is proposed to control the speed of the electric vehicle. While using solar power for the electric vehicle, the input voltage given to the system is not maintained at the same level which will vary the speed of the motor. So the speed can be maintained constant using the proposed zeta converter along with the Axial Flux Brushless Permanent Magnet DC Motor in closed loop condition. The Zeta converter along with Voltage source Inverter plays an very important role in motor based applications. The zeta converter can able to increase the voltage level or decrease the voltage level and maintain the constant voltage level using PI controller. 摘要
