The analysis of a electrodynamic characteristics of round lightguide is used for calculation by the stratification method. The dependence of a cutoff frequency shift of the HE/sub 11/ and TE/sub 01/-modes from profile parameters is explored. The influence of the index profile shape on a single-mode range is appreciated.
