A Survey on Malware Detection Technology and Future Trends

Malware has become a serious threat to the internet. Their numbers are constantly increasing, and the level of complexity is rising. This paper aims to conduct a systematic survey on the development of malware detection technology. The main contributions of this paper are: 1) Describing in detail the state-of-the-art of malware detection methods, 2) Exploring the challenges and limitations of machine learning implementation on malware detection, 3) Providing new trends and developments in malware detection technology. This survey is expected to help researchers to understand the malware detection technology and the direction of its research development.
