This paper presents a service-based approach to software application development where an application is composed of heterogeneous distributed services. As a proof of concept, we present WSPad, a Notepad-like word processor prototype built out of distributed services. But for such applications to be reliable the services need to exist on a highly available network. Internet带宽、可访问性和可靠性的增加使应用程序开发人员能够采用REST (Representational State Transfer)风格的web服务在云中构建web应用程序和软件即服务(SaaS)应用程序,从而实现范式转换,并且版本控制、发现和管理web服务的困难使得API管理的业务模型成为可能。本文提出了一种基于服务的软件应用程序开发方法,其中应用程序由异构分布式服务组成。作为概念的证明,我们展示了WSPad,一个基于分布式服务构建的类似记事本的文字处理器原型。但是要使这些应用程序可靠,服务需要存在于高可用性的网络上。为此,讨论了所提出方法的服务可靠性问题,并介绍了一个增强服务可靠性的框架以及原型实现和结果。
