Double-input boost/Y-source DC-DC converter for renewable energy sources
Applications of the multi-input converters are becoming popular due to their conformity to renewable energy systems. This paper proposes a new topology of double-input boost converters with continuous input current, which is intended to be used for renewable power sources. The topology is derived from two dc-dc converter configurations: boost dc-dc converter and Y-source dc-dc converter. In the proposed converter, the two inputs have the ability to supply the load simultaneously or individually. The operation states are inspected thoroughly and an appropriate switching scheme is proposed based on the features of each input source. Finally, Simulation results are presented to verify the performance of the proposed double-input converter.
