In order to observe the teacher’s strategies and how they were being applied, this study employed qualitative design. The instruments used to collect the data were observation, interview and document. The subject was an English teacher at SMAN 11 Banda Aceh.The results of the observation indicates that teacher used partial questioning strategy, review strategy, and feedback strategy. However, the teacher did not elaborate questioning strategy in her lesson plan.
