In order to accomplish online status monitoring and fault diagnosis for vacuum system, this paper proposes a hierarchical fuzzy Petri net-based fault diagnosis model for vacuum system. Since the fault with vacuum system is a typical discrete process, Petri net is used to model the fault diagnosis process for vacuum system as a discrete event system.
