The Former Secretary-General Kofi Annan said how the challenges of the twenty first century would not be conquered if it weren’t for international organizations. It is widely believed that international organizations should be responsible for the maintenance of international peace and stability and that they should act in the interest of the international community. One of the deficiencies would be according to critics the greater transparency of these institutions, regulation and control within these organizations so that they reflect more than just the interest of the powerful States.
