Development of Parent Education Program Prototype Using Action Learning for Cultivation of Young Children Character

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a prototype of an action learning parent education program for character development of children. Method: First, literature and cases related to early childhood personality, parent education, and action learning were analyzed, and a demand survey was conducted through in-depth interviews. Based on this, the components of the program were extracted, drafts were prepared, and the final program was derived through focus group interviews (FGI) and expert reviews. Results: The core activity process is divided into eight stages: lecture → Team building & Developing problems → Exploring and clarifying problems → Deriving possible solutions → Making action Plan → Implementing → Reflecting → Post-Activity. Conclusion: Through this study, it is expected to help solve practical problems for the character development of young children. This program is designed as a prototype of an action learning parent education program for character development of children, and it is necessary to verify the effectiveness by applying an actual program based on the program completion plan.
