During the study of literary sources, the main psychological and pedagogical foundations of the formation of a motivated attitude of younger schoolchildren to classes in the sports section were identified and a practical work option was proposed. The significance of the work carried out is to determine the specifics of the formation of motivation at the stage of the beginning of a sports career. In the course of the work, such research methods as the analysis of literary sources, the method of pedagogical observation, testing, questioning, and the method of verbal questioning were used.
