PECULIARITIES AND PROBLEMS OF PERSONALITY IDENTIFICATION IN THE MODERN WORLD

The article analyzes the process of identity in the modern world. Based on the concept of modern society as a “socio-cultural mosaic” the authors highlight different factors influencing the formation of identity, as well as consider the main forms of identity of modern man. Particular attention is paid to the problems that arise for the nation-states and traditional social institutions in the process of influencing the identity formation of their citizens. Objective: to highlight the factors influencing the process of modern man’s identity; to identify the main types of personal identity emerging in the modern world; to identify the problems that arise for nation-states and traditional institutions in the process of identity formation of their citizens. Method and methodology of work: we used phenomenological, typological methods of research, as well as the approach of social constructivism of T. Lukman and Peter Berger. Results: the main factors influencing the process of identification in the modern world were determined; the forms of identity characteristic of modern people were highlighted; the problems arising in modern nation-states and traditional institutions in the process of socialization and identification of personality were revealed. Scope of the results: the results can be applied in the study of modern social and cultural processes related to the socialization and identification of the individual.
