Analysis of educational website and diversified instructive resources by undergraduate students of Histology
Histology as a introductory course of cell studies is essential in biological and health undergraduate courses. A free access website www.histologia.unb.br has been developed by our research group to assist histology classroom teaching at University of Brasilia. Over two semesters, students evaluated quantitatively and qualitatively the website as a tool in their learning process. Website has been received good acceptance by students which approach it during classrooms or in their study times to supplement microscopical classes and as a source of study for assessments. The suggestions collected from histologia.unb.br users were analyzed and mostly incorporated in the website improvement actions. It is noteworthy that the diversity of educational methodologies applied over two semesters was also very well accepted by the majority of students when impact of these methods were analyzed on their individual learning processes. This opinion only strengthens our conviction that it is important to diversify educational resources in cellular diversity teaching, independently if it is a virtual or a face-to-face resource.
